Thanks for choosing to spend your day at The Beach Hut West Mersea! We want your visit to be relaxing and fun, so here are a few important things to know before you arrive:

Group Size
Each booking is for a maximum of 8 people total — this includes adults, children, babies, and dogs. This applies to both inside and around the hut. For everyone's comfort and safety, we kindly ask that this number isn’t exceeded. If it is, we may need to end your visit early.

Who's Booking
Bookings can only be made by guests aged 18 or over, and the person booking must be part of the group using the hut. Bookings can't be passed on to someone else.

Personal Use Only
Our beach huts are for personal use and pleasure — perfect for a chilled day out! If you're thinking of using the hut for a professional purpose (like a photo or film shoot), just get in touch with us first to chat through the details.

Payments
Full payment is needed to confirm your booking. Your spot isn’t secured until we’ve received your payment.

Cancellations & Changes
We know plans can change — here’s how cancellations work:
Free cancellation up to 7 days before your booking.
- After that, a £25 admin fee applies for any refunds.
- No refunds are available within 72 hours of your booking, and unfortunately we can’t refund for bad weather.

 

If we ever need to cancel due to something out of our control, we’ll give you a full refund — no worries.

During Your Visit
We hope everyone has a lovely time, and to help make that happen:
- Please be mindful of others and keep noise levels family-friendly.
- Stay within the hut’s boundaries so we don’t disturb neighbouring huts.
- radios, CD players, gazebos, or overnight stays are not allowed.
- The hut is alarmed after 8pm.
- Smoking, vaping, and candles are not allowed in or around the hut.
- BBQs are fine on the beach, away from the hut — just make sure they’re used safely and respectfully, and cleaned up after.

Arrival & Departure
- Arrival: from 9:30am
- Departure: by 7:30pm

We'll send you the key code at least 24 hours before your booking. Please keep the keys safe during your visit, and always lock the hut if you leave it unattended.

If you lose the key, we’ll do our best to help — but there’s a £25 charge for lost keys.

Before You Leave
Help us keep the hut lovely for the next guests by:
- Washing up any used crockery or utensils (we’ve provided everything you need).
- Taking out or binning all rubbish and leftover food/drink.
- Rinsing off toys and beach gear if they’re sandy, and storing them back in the box.
- Locking up, returning the keys to the safe, and scrambling the code.

If anything gets damaged during your visit, please let us know. We understand accidents happen — we’ll be fair and only charge for significant damage or repairs. If something’s not right, let us know during your visit, and we’ll do our best to sort it quickly.

Dogs
We love them! Up to two dogs are welcome — just make sure they’re supervised at all times.

Liability
We can’t accept responsibility for any loss, damage, illness, or injury that may happen during your visit, whether to guests or invited friends.
